Comprehension

The bar graph given below shows percentage of people (male +female) not attended the seminar out of the total people in the city and percentage of male attended the seminar out of the total people attended the seminar from four different (A, B, C and D) cities.

Note: Total people in a city = People (male + female) attending the seminar + people (male + females) not attending the seminar. People attending/not attending the seminar = males + females

The given table shows the ratio of male and female who did not attending the seminar.

Calculation:

Let number of people lived in city A is 100a.

Number of people not attending seminar from A is 100a × 60 /100 = 60a

Number of people attending seminar from A is 100a – 60a = 40a

Number of males attending the seminar from A is 40a × 25 /100 =10a

Number of females attending seminar from A is 40a – 10a = 30a

Number of males who are not attending the seminar from A is 60a × 3 / 5 =36a

Number of females who are not attending the seminar from A is 60a – 36a = 24a

ATQ, 24a = 72, a = 3.

30a – 10a = 20a = 20 * 3 = 60 = y.

Also, 280 + x = 300, x = 20.

So, 5y + 7x = 5 × 60 + 7 × 20  = 300 + 140 = 440
