Question
Download Solution PDFThe circuit shown in the given figure is a _________.
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFThe correct answer is option 1):(clamper)
Concept:
Clamper circuit
- A Clamper circuit can be defined as a circuit that consists of a diode, a resistor and a capacitor that shifts the waveform to the desired DC level without changing the actual appearance of the applied signal.
- It consists of a resistor, a capacitor, a diode and a battery. A positive clamper is shown in fig.
- A Clamping circuit restores the DC level. When a negative peak of the signal is raised above the zero level, then the signal is said to be positively clamped.
- For a positive clamper circuit, the input and output are as shown below
Additional Information
Clipper circuit:
A circuit is designed to prevent a signal from exceeding a predetermined reference voltage level.
Full-wave rectifier:
A full-wave rectifier converts both the cycles of AC input to DC output
Voltage regulator:
It is used to regulate the voltage level. It generates a fixed output voltage that remains constant for any changes in the load.
