QAM : Quadrature amplitude modulation
QAM utilises both amplitude and phase components to provide a form of modulation that is able to provide good spectrum efficiency.
QAM is a signal in which two carriers shifted in phase by 90 degrees (i.e. sine and cosine) are modulated and combined.
Quadrature tells 90 degrees phase difference between two components.
Signal is consisted of two components :
- In phase Component P
- Quadrature Component Q
Signal is combination of both in phase and quadrature component.
in above diagram both amplitude and phase changes.
