The number of employees working in five different sectors and the respective ratio of male and female employees are given.
Calculations:
Number of employees in T sector = 800
Number of males in T sector = 3x and females = 5x (let, x being the number of male and female employees)
Total employees = (3x + 5x) = 8x
Required number of males in T sector = 800 × \(\dfrac{3x}{8x}\)
⇒ 3 × 100 = 300
Number of employees in S sector = 750
Number of males in S sector = 7x and females = 8x (let, x being the number of male and female employees)
Total employees = (7x + 8x) = 15x
Required number of females in S sector = 750 × \(\dfrac{8x}{15x}\)
⇒ 8 × 50 = 400
∴ Ratio between the two = (300 : 400) = 3 : 4
∴ The answer is 3 : 4
