The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has released the AP EDCET Eligibility Criteria details in the official notification PDF. All the interested and eligible candidates must fulfill the AP EDCET Eligibility criteria in order to appear in the common entrance exam and the admission process. If it is discovered that they have submitted incorrect information related to AP EDCET eligibility, then they will be disqualified from the admission process. The Key Highlights are

• Candidates who fulfill all the eligibility requirements and have submitted the AP EDCET application form shall be allowed to participate in the AP EDCET 2022 admission into B.Ed. Regular Course and B.Ed. Special Education in the University /Government/ Aided and /or Private Colleges of Education in Andhra Pradesh for the Academic Year 2025-2026
• As per the AP EDCET Eligibility criteria, the minimum age of the candidates must be 19 years as of 1st July 2025 in order to be eligible to participate in the common entrance exam.

AP EDCET Eligibility Criteria 2025

The AP EDCET Eligibility Criteria is an important factor that should be satisfied by all the candidates. In case the candidates fail to meet any or all of the eligibility requirements, then they will not be allowed to appear in the admission process. The various criteria are detailed below:

Age Limit

• The minimum age of the candidates must be 19 years as of 1st July 2022 while applying for the AP EDCET exam.
• There shall be no maximum age limit.

Educational Qualification

The AP EDCET Eligibility for educational criteria should be satisfied by the candidates before applying for the common entrance exam. The required qualification will be as follow:

• Candidates should have passed/appeared for final year examinations of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science)/B.Com./ B.C.A./B.B.M. at the time of submitting the Application for AP Ed.CET-2022.
• Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% (40% marks for S.C, S.T, B.C.(A/B/C/D/E), and physically handicapped category) marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree i.e., B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M and or in the PostGraduate Degree in relevant subject or 5 years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent.

Note: Candidates must submit the marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission.

AP EDCET Educational Criteria for Choice of Subject

The following is AP EDCET Eligibility for the choice of the subject under Part C shared below:

• Mathematics: Candidates with B.A/B.Sc. with Mathematics as one of the group subjects or B.C.A. candidate’s with Mathematics at intermediate level as a group subject or B.Tech. with Mathematics & Physics.
• Physical Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc. who have studied Physics and Chemistry or Allied Material Sciences under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. Candidates with Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) at intermediate level as group subjects.
• Biological Sciences: Candidates with B.Sc./B.Sc.(Home Science) who have studied Botany and Zoology or Allied Life Sciences under Part-II group subjects or B.C.A. candidates with Biological Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects
• Social Studies: All candidates with B.A./B.Com./B.B.M. or B.C.A. candidates with Social Sciences at intermediate level as group subjects.
• English: Candidates with B.A Special English or M.A.English

Nationality

• Candidates should have Indian Nationality.
• The Candidates should meet “Local” / “Non-Local” status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions

Number of Attempts

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has not mentioned any limit on the number of attempts for participating in the AP EDCET exam process. Candidates can appear as long as they want until they fulfill other AP EDCET eligibility conditions.

AP EDCET Exam 2025 Reservation

Along with the AP EDCET Eligibility Criteria, the candidates should know the reservation rules before appearing for the common entrance exam. The major points involve:

• The admission to 85% of the seats in each methodology shall be reserved for the local candidates and 15% of the seats shall be left unreserved as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions
• If a local candidate in respect of local area is not available to fill any seat reserved or allocated in favor of a local candidate in respect of that local area, such seat shall be filled in as if it has been un-reserved.
