The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) releases the IBPS Clerk Syllabus and Exam Pattern for both the Prelims and Mains stages. Candidates must understand the exam structure, marking scheme, and important topics to prepare effectively. In IBPS Clerk 2025 Exam, the Prelims will cover English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability, while the Mains will include General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. Both exams will have objective-type questions. The Prelims will be conducted for 100 marks and the Mains for 200 marks. IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2025

The prelims exam has three sections with a total of 100 marks. The test is an objective-based online paper where one hour is allocated to the candidates. Those who qualify for this part, securing the cut-off prescribed by IBPS, are eligible to appear for the mains exam. The three sections of the prelims exam include English Language, Numerical Efficiency, and Reasoning Ability.

  • The total number of questions asked in the IBPS Clerk Exam is 100.
  • The maximum mark allotted for the preliminary examination is 100.
  • The mark allotted for every correct answer is 1 mark.
  • A Negative Marking of 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer

IBPS Clerk Mains Exam Pattern 2025

According to the latest update by the governing body, in 2025 and the coming years the IBPS Clerk mains exam shall have a total of 190 questions. Aspirants will be given a total of 160 minutes to finish the objective-based online test. IBPS Clerk question pattern was such, Computer Aptitude and Reasoning ability sections were allotted separately. However, as per the new rule, both these sections have been merged.   • There are a total number of 190 questions in the mains examination.
  • The maximum marks for the examination are 200.
  • A Negative Marking of 0.25 of the assigned mark will be deducted for every wrong answer
