RBI Grade B Educational Qualification 2025

The educational qualifications required for RBI Grade B recruitment differ based on the post applied for, such as Legal Officer, Manager (Technical – Civil), or Manager (Technical – Electrical). Each post has specific degree requirements and minimum marks criteria. Candidates must ensure they possess the relevant qualifications as on July 1, 2025. Only those who meet the post-wise eligibility will be considered for selection.

RBI Grade B Age Limit 2025

Candidates must fulfill the age requirements for their respective posts as on July 1, 2025. The specific age limits vary by post, and relaxations are provided to reserved category candidates as per government guidelines. It’s important to check the detailed age criteria before applying.

RBI Grade B Attempt Limit 2025

Candidates applying for the RBI Grade B (General) – Phase 1 exam should note that there is a limit on the number of attempts. General and EWS category candidates can attempt the exam up to 6 times. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, or PwBD categories have unlimited attempts, provided they meet the age and other eligibility criteria.

• General/EWS Candidates: Maximum 6 attempts
   
• SC/ST/OBC/PwBD Candidates: Unlimited attempts (until age limit is crossed)

Note: Attempts are counted only for Phase 1 of the General post. Other streams do not have an attempt limit.

RBI Grade B Nationality Criteria 2025

To be eligible for the RBI Grade B exam, a candidate must meet the nationality criteria set by the Reserve Bank of India. The applicant should be a citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intent to settle permanently, are also eligible. Additionally, individuals of Indian origin who have migrated from select countries may apply, provided they have an eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.

• A citizen of India, or
   
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
   
• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, intending to settle permanently, or
   
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam) with the intention of settling permanently in India.

RBI Grade B Eligibility - Important Points

Apart from meeting the above eligibility criteria, candidates must also make sure that they go through the following important points mentioned in the official RBI Grade B notification - 

1. Female candidates who have changed their name or surname after marriage must have a valid Gazette Notification, marriage certificate, or affidavit in both original and photocopy.
2. The candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS/Ex-servicemen categories who want to claim reservation or relaxation benefits must have the required certificates in the prescribed format.
3. The applicants are not allowed to change their category during the selection process. All candidates must have valid documents to prove their eligibility for reservation benefits. 
4. A candidate belonging to PwBD category seeking reservation must meet the eligibility conditions governed by the “Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPWD) Act 2016,”
5. In case a candidate becomes physically disabled during the selection process due to unfortunate events, then he/she must provide valid documents proving 40% disability or more as defined under the RPWD Act, 2016 to receive reservation benefits.
6. There is no provision of age relaxations provided to candidates who identify themselves as widows.
