AIIMS MBBS Preparation Strategy

Enough motivation paired with a solid preparation strategy is capable of doing wonders for the aspirants. Those who wish to bag the opportunity to pursue the MBBS degree from one of the several AIIMS of our country, should mandatorily focus on a multi-dimensional preparation approach. This can only be achieved by chalking out a preparation strategy which works specifically to achieve the high scores required to be eligible for AIIMS MBBS. Some of the tips and techniques which might prove helpful in planning strategizing have been provided here:

  • Adopt the smart study techniques: It is very important to work hard in a smart way and in the right direction. Smart study includes techniques like practical oriented learning, solving mock papers, dividing the syllabus & studying them in the given time period, focusing on weak areas, checking your accuracy & speed, taking help from sources like the internet, etc. It's not necessary to mug up the entire book. Smart study means the capability to filter out important from unimportant. It is also essential that the candidates keep on making notes while they study through the subjects. This will save a lot of time during revision.
  • Focus on the fundamental concepts: Understanding the key concepts well before, keeping all your doubts cleared and having a clarity in your knowledge are key factors to scoring well in NEET UG examination. So, use standard books, refer to genuine guidance and mentorship and keep your concepts clear while you prepare.
  • Revision is the key: Daily Revision is important and is a very effective exam preparation strategy. For better understanding of how forgetfulness works and how one can overcome the problem of forgetting what they have learnt, he/she should go through the Ebbinghaus Curve. The Forgetting Curve shows that the biggest drop in retention happens soon after learning. So, always try to revise just after completing one topic. Make this your habit and follow it on a regular basis. Discuss difficult topics with your friends and teachers. Group discussion will help you to clear your basic concept.
  • Time management is crucial: The syllabus is vast. It is important to learn how to fit in everything that is important within the time constraints. Make a daily schedule for yourself and try not to change it often. Make short term and long term goals for yourself which will help you to measure how much time you have in hand and how much of it you should dedicate to a particular topic or subject.
  • Keep yourself healthy: Health is the true wealth. If your mind and body are not healthy, nothing in the world will work in your favour. So, try to keep yourself physically active, especially during your monotonous preparation days. Workout regularly, eat healthy and sleep undisturbed for at least 7 hours a day.
