Cause of Backwardness in Children: There are so many causes underlying backwardness. But these factors can be divided into two categories:

• Internal Factors: Learning disability, Low intelligence, physical defect, attention deficit disorder and lack of motivation, etc.
• External or Environmental Factors: Family adjustment issues, poor discipline, discordant environment in school, sibling rivalry and over expectation of parent, etc.

Hence, it becomes clear that a healthy environment does not cause backwardness even it helps in decreasing backwardness.
