EMF equation of a transformer

qImage657c4169f272959c3e3fffcd

The EMF equation on the primary side of a transformer is given by:

E1 = 4.44 f N1 ϕm ....... (i)

The EMF equation on the secondary side of a transformer is given by:

E2 = 4.44 f N2 ϕm ....... (ii)

where, E = Induced EMF

f = Frequency

ϕm = Maximum flux

N1 = No. of turn on the primary side

N2 = No. of turn on the secondary side

Dividing (i) by (ii), we get:

\({E_1\over E_2}={N_1\over N_2}\)
