Given :

Investment by 1st one = Rs 30000

Investment by 2nd one = Rs 50000

Gained profit = Rs 16000

Solution :

According to the question they divided the half profit i.e. Rs 8000 equally.

I.e. they got Rs 4000 each initially.

Now ratio of their investments :

⇒ 30000 : 50000

⇒ 3 : 5

Now they both will get the profit according to their investments :

⇒ 3x + 5x = 8000

⇒ 8x = 8000

⇒ x = Rs 1000

1st one will get in Rs 8000: 3x = 3 × 1000

⇒ Rs 3000

2nd one will get in Rs 8000: 5x = 5 × 1000

⇒ Rs 5000

Total profit earned by 1st one = 3000 + 4000

⇒ Rs 7000

Total profit earned by 2nd one = 5000 + 4000

⇒ Rs 9000

Hence the correct answer is "Rs 7000 &  9000".
