Given:

Difference between two numbers = 48

Ratio of the two numbers = 7:3

Formula Used:

Let the two numbers be 7x and 3x.

The difference between the two numbers = 7x - 3x = 48

Calculation:

7x - 3x = 48

⇒ 4x = 48

⇒ x = 48 / 4

⇒ x = 12

First number = 7x = 7 × 12 = 84

Second number = 3x = 3 × 12 = 36

Sum of the two numbers = 84 + 36

⇒ 120

The sum of the two numbers is 120.
