Concept:

Consider a current-carrying wire bent into the shape of a square with side 2a.

Then the value of magnetizing force (H) at the center.

\(H = \frac{\sqrt{2}I}{\pi a}\)

Calculation:

Given;

I = 100 A

Length of wire = 2.5 cm

Then;

  2a = 2.5/4

⇒ a = 2.5/8 cm

Therefore;

Magnetizing force(H) at the center;

\(H = \frac{\sqrt{2}I}{\pi a} = \frac{\sqrt{2}\times 100}{\pi \times 0.3125}=144.05\, AT/m \approx144\, AT/m\)
