Concept:

Use formula :

sec2 θ = 1 + tan2 θ

Calculation:

a sin2 θ + b cos2 θ = c

Divide by cos2 θ both the sides then

⇒ a tan2 θ + b = c sec2 θ

⇒ a tan2 θ + b = c (1 + tan2 θ)

⇒ (a - c) tan2 θ = c - b
