फाइबर केबल के प्रकार
1.) एकल मोड फाइबर
- इसमें 9 माइक्रोन का एक बहुत छोटा कोर आकार है और इसका एक ही प्रकाश पथ है और यह 100 किमी तक की लंबी दूरी तय कर सकता है।
- एकल-मोड फाइबर में केवल एक पारेषण(ट्रांसमिशन) मोड होता है।
- मल्टी-मोड फाइबर की तुलना में, यह उच्च बैंडविड्थ वहन कर सकता है; हालाँकि, इसके लिए एक संकीर्ण स्पेक्ट्रमी चौड़ाई वाले प्रकाश स्रोत की आवश्यकता होती है।
