Download Solution PDFGiven: Seven people A, B, C, D, E, F and G have a holiday on seven different days of the same week (Monday to Sunday) and work in seven different departments (Marketing, Production, Advertising, HR, Online, Accounts, Maintenance).
C has a holiday on Thursday and works in Maintenance department. Only two people have a holiday between C and A.
The one who works in online department has a holiday immediately after A means A's holiday is on Monday, Online is on Tuesday.
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | |
Tuesday | Online | |
Wednesday | ||
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | ||
Saturday | ||
Sunday |
Only one person has a holiday between B and the one who works in Accounts department. B neither has a holiday on Sunday nor on Friday. Only Two people have holidays between B and D.
E does not have a holiday immediately before or after D.
Now, we have 2 cases.
Case 1,
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | |
Tuesday | E | Online |
Wednesday | B | |
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | Accounts | |
Saturday | D | |
Sunday |
Case 2,
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | Accounts |
Tuesday | E | Online |
Wednesday | B | |
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | ||
Saturday | D | |
Sunday |
F does not have a holiday on any of the days after G means F take holiday before G.
The one working in HR department has a holiday immediately after the one working in Marketing department.
D does not work in HR department Neither B nor F works in Production department.
Case 1,
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | Production |
Tuesday | E | Online |
Wednesday | B | Advertising |
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | F | Accounts |
Saturday | D | Marketing |
Sunday | G | HR |
Case 2,
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | Accounts |
Tuesday | E | Online |
Wednesday | B | |
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | F | |
Saturday | D | Marketing |
Sunday | G | HR |
Here, case 2 gets eliminated as neither B nor F works in Production department.
Final answer is,
Case 1,
Day | Person | Department |
---|---|---|
Monday | A | Production |
Tuesday | E | Online |
Wednesday | B | Advertising |
Thursday | C | Maintenance |
Friday | F | Accounts |
Saturday | D | Marketing |
Sunday | G | HR |
Thus, 'G' has a holiday on Sunday.
Therefore, the correct answer is Option 4.
