VI characteristics of PN Junction Diode

Knee Voltage:

The forward knee voltage, also known as the cut-in voltage, is the minimum forward voltage required to initiate current flow in the diode
Forward knee voltage decreases: As temperature rises, the energy required for carriers to overcome the junction barrier decreases, resulting in a lower forward voltage (typically decreases by ~2 mV/°C for silicon diodes).

Reverse Saturation Current:

The reverse saturation current is the small current that flows through the diode when it is reverse-biased.
Reverse saturation current increases: Temperature increases the intrinsic carrier concentration in the semiconductor, leading to a significant rise in reverse saturation current, often doubling every 10°C.
