Seven segment LED:

It is made of seven different illuminating segments.
These are arranged in a way to display numbers and characters by different combinations of segments.
The binary information is displayed using these seven segments.
LED or light emitting diode is P-N junction diode which emits the energy in the form of light.
It can display 0-9 decimal number with some alpha symbols.

It has two modes

1. Common anode

2. Common cathode
