Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Ratio of coins = 7:5:3
Value of coins = Rs 3, Rs 4, Rs 5
Total value of coins = Rs 392
Formula Used:
Total value = (Number of coins of Rs 3 × 3) + (Number of coins of Rs 4 × 4) + (Number of coins of Rs 5 × 5)
Calculation:
Let the number of coins of Rs 3, Rs 4, and Rs 5 be 7x, 5x, and 3x respectively.
Total value of coins:
⇒ 7x × 3 + 5x × 4 + 3x × 5 = 392
⇒ 21x + 20x + 15x = 392
⇒ 56x = 392
⇒ x = 392 / 56
⇒ x = 7
Number of coins of value Rs 3:
⇒ 7x = 7 × 7
⇒ 49
The total number of coins of value Rs 3 is 49.
