Work = time × efficiency
Calculation
Take LCM of (15, 21) = 105
Let the total work be 105
Efficiency of A and B = 105/15 = 7 ----(1)
Efficiency of B = 105/21 = 5 ----(2)
From (1) and (2)
⇒ A + B - B = 2
By using (3), efficiency of A =2,
A alone can complete the work in days = 105/2 = 52(1/2) days
∴ A alone can complete the work in days 52(1/2) days.
