About Chemical Engineering Exam

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Chemical Engineering exam is a competitive examination which is conducted every year by different Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). GATE Chemical Engineering Exam Pattern

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) exam is an online test which is conducted in three sections. The major highlights related to the GATE Chemical Engineering Exam Pattern is mentioned below:

• The examination will be conducted in the computer-based mode.
• There will be mainly three sections in the GATE Chemical Engineering exam i.e. General Aptitude, Engineering Mathematics, and Chemical Engineering.
• The nature of the questions will be MCQ(Multiple Choice Questions), MSQ(Multiple Select Questions), and NAT(Numerical Answer Type).
• The General Aptitude section will consist of 15% of weightage in the exam while the other two sections Engineering Mathematics and Chemical Engineering will account for 85% weightage.
• The marks allotted to each question are fixed at 1 or 2 as decided by the authorities. Regarding the wrong answers, the questions that account for 1 mark will have a deduction of 1/3rd. While the questions that account for 2 marks will have a deduction of 2/3rd marks if the answers marked are wrong.
• The total duration to complete the examination is fixed at 180 minutes.
