The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level exam that is conducted by the consortium of the National Law Universities consisting of representatives from universities around the country. The body has its headquarters at NLSIU Bangalore. The candidates who have cleared the CLAT entrance exam will get the chance to sit through the allotment process and CLAT counseling. CLAT Counseling 2025 Dates

The candidates who have cleared the CLAT entrance exam, need to register themselves on the official portal. Only registered candidates will be allowed in the CLAT counseling 2025. Here, we have provided you with certain important dates regarding CLAT counseling 2025-

CLAT Counseling 2025: Complete Process

The candidates are advised to log in and check if they have been invited for the counseling or not. CLAT consortium will not be responsible for the non-delivery of e-mail/SMS. Here, candidates should follow the following process for CLAT counseling 2025 -

Registration

Step1. The candidates should update their NLUs preferences and there should be a minimum of 5 preferences chosen by the candidates.

Step 2. Make an online payment to block the seat based on your category- 

• General candidates - INR 50,000 
• SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD - INR 50,000
• Candidates are requested to pay the payment before the last date.
• Payments shall be made via online mode only. It would be helpful if you waited till you see a payment message.
• Only those candidates who complete the registration process will be considered for the seat allotment process.
• Candidates who have not received an invite for the counseling process in the first round may be called during subsequent rounds, in case of vacancies, if any, arise in that particular category.

First Provisional Seat Allotment

• CLAT counseling 2025 first provisional list will be announced soon.
• Only those candidates will be entertained who have successfully registered themselves on the portal and have names on the first invitee list. 
• Otherwise, the candidates should wait for the next merit list. 

Second Provisional Seat Allotment​

• Only those candidates will be entertained who have successfully registered themselves on the portal 
• Candidates who have opted for the revised option in the first allotment list will also be considered.

Third Provisional Seat Allotment​

• Only those candidates will be entertained who have successfully registered themselves on the portal 
• Candidates who have opted for the revised option in the previous allotment list will also be considered.

Fourth Provisional Seat Allotment ​

• Only those candidates will be entertained who have successfully registered themselves on the portal 
• Candidates who have opted for the revised option in the previous allotment list will also be considered.

Fifth Provisional Seat Allotment​

• Only those candidates will be entertained who have successfully registered themselves on the portal 
• Candidates who have opted for the revised option in the previous allotment list will also be considered.

What Options Will Be Available After CLAT 2025 Seat Allotment?

The candidates should successfully register themselves on the portal and should check if they have been allocated a seat or not. If they have been allocated a seat for the counseling process, then they will have the following options:

• Accept the seat then, no further changes will be considered
• Apply for revision- this option is also required to make the payment of the requisite fee to the allotted University.
• Exit from the CLAT admission process - if any candidate chooses this option, they forfeit claim for any seat allotment from the CLAT consortium. He/she will lose his/her current allotted seat and will not be considered for allotment in the subsequent lists also.
• If any candidate does not exercise any of the above options, it shall be deemed that he/she is not interested in the admission process and his/her candidature will not be considered for admissions. His /her name will be removed from the counseling list and will not be considered in subsequent lists also.
• In the fifth allocation of seats, candidates should have only two options- Accept the seat or Exit from the CLAT admission process.
• On the closure of this list, the central admission process from the consortium is deemed to have been closed; however, NLUs are free to admit candidates to fill the vacant seats, if any, by public advertisement and following merit norms.

CLAT Seat Allotment 2025 Fee Details

The registration process is incomplete without payment of fees. Candidates need to pay the CLAT counseling fee of INR 50,000 in online mode via credit/debit card/internet banking. 

Then, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address and phone number of candidates on successful payment.

Candidates need to ask their allotted college for further payment as every college has a different fee structure and this fee will be adjusted with the registered fee.

The fee will be refunded in the following case:

• Fully refunded if the candidates withdrew their seat before the last date.
• Deduction of INR 10,000 to the total counseling fee will be done if candidates withdraw their seats after the last date.
• If the candidates are ineligible during the document verification then their admission will be canceled. Such candidates will get a refund of Rs 40,000 after the deduction of processing charges.

Documents Required for Verification After CLAT Seat Allotment 2025

No admission can get completed without document verification. The candidates need to upload documents for the further process and this is applicable for both undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. Here, we have provided the list of documents required for CLAT counseling 2025-
