The UPSC Application Rejection List 2025 was released on its official website, to which candidates appeal before 17th March. UPSC has extended the last date to apply for the Civil Services Prelims 2025 exam till 21st February 2025. UPSC has also provided a 7-day correction window. Candidates can modify their application details from February 22 to February 28, 2025.

UPSC has introduced New rules for modifying the One-Time Registration (OTR) profile while filling out the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 application form. Candidates can now edit specific details before final submission and during the correction window. However, certain key information, like name and date of birth, cannot be changed. Aspirants must complete their registration within the extended period to avoid any last-minute issues. The UPSC IAS Application Form 2025 was released on the UPSC website along with the official UPSC CSE Notification on 22nd January, 2025. Candidates who wish to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Recruitment 2025 must fill out the application form online within the specified deadline.

  • The UPSC online application process for IAS 2025 has started on 22 January, 2025 along with the release of the official notification. 
  • The UPSC Civil Service application process is conducted online only.
  • Candidates must make sure that they fulfil the required UPSC CSE Eligibility Criteria before filling out the UPSC Civil Services Application Form.
  • Candidates will be required to pay an application fee of Rs.100/- (General/EWS/OBC Males) to submit their application form.
  • Female candidates and candidates from SC/ST/PwBD categories are exempted from paying UPSC application fee.

UPSC IAS OTR New Rules 2025

The Union Public Service Commission has recently introduced some major changes related to OTR Profile. This guide explains all the important updates to help aspirants navigate the application process smoothly. For more detailed info, candidates can download the PDF given below:

  • UPSC has updated the One-Time Registration (OTR) process for CSE 2025 applications.
  • Candidates can edit details like name change history, gender, minority status, and Class 10 roll number.
  • Core details such as name, date of birth, and parents' names cannot be modified.
  • Lost mobile numbers or email IDs can be updated through OTP verification.
  • If both mobile and email access is lost, candidates must email UPSC with required documents.
  • PwBD candidates must provide details of their ‘own scribe’ for the Prelims exam.
  • Those needing a name change must submit a Gazette Notification after the Prelims result.
  • PwBD candidates can upload either a UDID certificate or a valid disability certificate.
  • Integrated Master’s Degree holders should enter the same course in both graduation and post-graduation fields.
  • Changes can be made only during the correction window, except for restricted details.

UPSC Application Process 2025

Candidates will have to submit the IAS application form online mode only. After the candidates have successfully registered themselves for the UPSC IAS Exam, candidates will have to fill out the application form which is done online only. There will be separate registration links provided for both the Prelims and Mains exams. The steps to apply for the UPSC IAS exam are as follows.

Step 1: One-Time Registration on the UPSC Website

Visit the UPSC website. Go to the One Time Registration Portal. Enter the required details and complete the OTR process to get your registration id and password.

Step 2: Fill out the UPSC Civil Services Application Form

In Part - I registration, candidates will have to fill in all the personal information like name, age, address, etc. In Part - II registration candidates have to submit all the requisite documents, namely; educational certificates, ID proof, age relaxation if applicable, photograph, signature, payment details and declaration. (Photograph & Signature should be in JPG format).

Step 3: Upload the Documents

Upload the required documents such as your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the required application fee as per your required category. Check the details and submit the application form. Download and save a copy of the same for reference.

Application Fee for UPSC Exam 

The candidates who are submitting the IAS Application Form will also have to pay an application fee. The application fee can be paid both, online and offline mode. Check the below table for the application fees.

Note: 

  • Application fees once paid will be not refunded under any circumstances.
  • Applications without the prescribed Fee (Unless remission of Fee is claimed) shall be summarily rejected.
  • If any candidate has attended the Civil Services Examination held in 2019/2020/2021 and wishes to apply for admission to this examination, he/she must submit his/her application without waiting for the results or an offer of appointment.
  • Candidates admitted to the Main Examination will be required to pay a further fee of INR 200/-.
  • Online Mode: Candidates can pay the application fee online through SBI Net banking or by cash through SBI bank challan or through credit card/debit card.
  • Offline Mode: To pay the fee in cash, the candidate should take a printout of challan generated online after completion of registration. The candidate may go to the nearest SBI branch for a depositing fee after 24 hours of generation of challan. 
  • Candidates must ensure they keep the fee payment receipt carefully with them as they will have to provide proof later on.

UPSC One Time Registration (OTR) 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is the recruiting agency that recruits candidates for top-level Central Government jobs. The UPSC mainly recruits for Group-A posts like Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Postal Service, Defence Accounts Service, etc. UPSC also recruits for some Group-B posts such as Central Excise Service, Central Engineering Service, Central Health Service, Botanical Survey of India, etc. Read this article further to get all the important news regarding UPSC One Time Registration 2025.

What is UPSC One Time Registration 2025?

UPSC OTR is a One Time Registration that a candidate has to do to appear in the examination conducted by the UPSC in future. With the help of UPSC One Time Registration, candidates will get a lot of information in the automatic application form. Candidates do not have to fill in their personal details each time filling in any exam application form. Once, the candidates filled any information, that information will remain stored securely in the Commission’s servers. It is mandatory for all the candidates to first register in Union Public Service Commission OTR to apply for any exam conducted by UPSC like CDS, CMS, IAS, IFS, NDA, Civil Services, Engineering Services, ISS, IES, Forest Services, etc.

Steps for UPSC One-Time Registration 

Candidates can check out the below-provided steps to apply for UPSC One Time Registration without facing any difficulties. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: You have to first visit the official website of UPSC.

Step 2: Click on the UPSC OTR notification provided on the home page.

Step 3: If you are new, register yourself first with the basic information such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, email ID, address, etc.

Step 4: Then verify your One Time Registration profile details and submit Registration.

Step 5: You have to enter the OTP that you will receive on the registered email ID and mobile number.

Step 6: Then the registration process will be completed and the candidate will see the OTR ID on their screen. 

Step 7: You have to take a print or screenshot of their OTR profile.

Step 8: Now, you have to log in with the mobile number/email ID or OTR ID along with the OTP that you will receive on the registered mobile number or email.

Step 9: Now, the UPSC One Time Registration 2025 process is completed. 

Step 10: Now, whenever a new application for any UPSC exam comes out, you can apply for the same. You can also get the history of the old filling application form from the same.

IAS Application Form Prerequisites

The requisite for any application form to be uploaded successfully is the requirement of correctly filled documents in the correct format. Candidates applying for the UPSC IAS exam must keep all the required documents ready for uploading. The documents to be uploaded are as follows.

  • Photo ID proof like a Passport/PAN Card/Aadhar Card should be in PDF format. (The digital size of the file should not exceed 300 KB each and must not be less than 20 KB)
  • A recent passport-size picture in JPG format. (Size of the file should be the same as above)
  • Required signatures in JPG format. (Size of the file should be the same as above)

How to Withdraw UPSC Application?

Candidates can withdraw their application form in case of any discrepancy from the official website. Candidates will have to fill in the details they have provided during the registration and application process. In order to withdraw the IAS Application Form, candidates can follow the below-given steps to avoid any sort of confusion.

Step 1: Visit the official website of UPSC, which is upsc.gov.in 

Step 2: Navigate to the section which says “What's new”

Step 3: Go to the Withdrawal of Application link for Civil Services(Preliminary) Examination, 2025. 

Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions and click on withdraw. 

Step 5: Click on the Application withdrawal link from the right corner once again. 

Step 6: Read all the instructions carefully and click on Yes

Step 7: Enter the details like Registration ID and hit Enter. 

Step 8: Enter details such as Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Mobile Number, and e-mail id. 

Step 9: Withdrawal the application for the UPSC IAS 2025 examination and press agree.

Candidates should keep in mind that their IAS Application Forms can be rejected on various grounds. The following are the major reasons on why it can be rejected by the commission.

  • Unclear picture of the candidate.
  • If the photo or signature is not in the required format.
  • The application form contains incorrect details.
