The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released all the information regarding the NIFT entrance exam syllabus. As per the NIFT exam Syllabus, there will be a written examination for all the candidates applying for various UG and PG courses. The written examination will have two components: General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT). The selection process has various rounds for the NIFT entrance exam courses. The candidates should clear all the rounds to get admission to their desired course.

NIFT Syllabus 2025
The NIFT 2025 syllabus is designed to assess a candidate's knowledge and skills for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. It includes topics such as General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, Communication Skills, and Creative Ability. The syllabus for the Creative Ability Test (CAT) focuses on design concepts, innovation, and observation skills, while the General Ability Test (GAT) covers broader areas like English comprehension, logical reasoning, and general knowledge. Aspiring candidates must thoroughly study these areas to perform well in the entrance exam.
NIFT Entrance Exam GAT Syllabus 2025
The General Ability Test is compulsory for all candidates irrespective of the programme they have chosen. This test is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and aptitude in order to understand if they are suitable for the programme opted for.
The syllabus for the GAT is as follows.

| Quantitative Ability | This section will evaluate the basic mathematical ability of the candidates. It will contain questions on topics like Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio Proportion and Distance. |
| Communication Ability and English Comprehension | This section aims at evaluating the candidate’s language and communication ability. It will contain questions on the topics like synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, passage comprehension, etc. |
| Analytical Ability and Logical Ability | This section will contain questions that evaluate the candidate’s ability to understand a situation and apply logical methods to resolve them. It will contain questions that may require the concepts and practice of creative and lateral thinking by the candidates. |
| General Knowledge and Current Affairs | This section will contain questions concerning the current affairs and general knowledge of the candidates. The major topics to include in your preparation are brand ambassadors, brand takeovers, beauty pageants, beauty events, basic history, basic geography, world leaders, full forms of important organizations or brands, fashion weeks, etc. |
| Case Study | This section will contain questions based on a situation in the industry where the candidates have to apply their managerial skills. |
NIFT Entrance Exam CAT Syllabus 2025
The CAT exam is held for the B.Des and M.Des candidates by the NIFT. The discernment ability, power of observation, creativity and development of thought, and design ability of the candidate will be tested in this test. As per the previous year's question papers and NIFT syllabus 2025, some of the important topics are mentioned below. This test will contain 3 questions from the drawing arena.

NIFT Entrance Exam Situation Test Syllabus 2025
The Situation Test is conducted for the B.Des candidates who are shortlisted after the written examination. This hands-on test will evaluate the candidate’s material handling and innovative ability skills in a given situation with a given set of materials.

NIFT Exam Syllabus for Group Discussion and Personal Interview
As per the performance in the written examinations, the candidates will be chosen for a Group Discussion or a Personal Interview. The M.Des, M.F.M, and M.FTech candidates should undergo group discussion (GD) and personal interviews (PI) for their selection.
