Gujarat Judiciary Exam Dates for the Prelims, and Gujarati Test have been postponed until further notice. A total of 212 vacancies have been released for the post of Civil Judges in the High Court of Gujarat. The Gujarat High Court Civil Judge recruitment process selects candidates for judicial positions through a structured examination. It includes multiple stages such as Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Viva Voce (Interview) to assess legal knowledge and suitability.
The Gujarat Judiciary Exam Dates have been postponed. This is for the Prelims and the Gujarati Language Test. The new exam dates will be announced soon. Gujarat Civil Judge Selection Process 2025
The Selection Process for Gujarat Judiciary Exam 2025 consists of 3 stages - Prelims, Mains and an Viva-Voce round. The final selections will be made on the basis of merit obtained in all the three stages of the selection process. Go through the details of each stage below -
Stage 1 - Prelims Exam
The Preliminary Exam is a screening test conducted for 100 marks with 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 2 hours. Additionally, candidates must appear for a separate Gujarati language test of 50 marks, which lasts 1.5 hours. Only those who qualify in both exams proceed to the next stage.
Stage 2 - Mains Examination
The Main Exam is a written examination consisting of multiple descriptive papers, each carrying 100 marks with a duration of 3 hours. This stage evaluates candidates' legal knowledge, drafting skills, and analytical abilities. Performance in this exam plays a crucial role in final selection.
Stage 3 - Interview
The Interview is the final stage, carrying 50 marks, where candidates are assessed on their personality, communication skills, and legal aptitude. The final merit list is prepared based on combined performance in the Main Exam and Interview.
Gujarat Judiciary Exam Eligibility 2025
Candidates must fulfill the following criteria in order to take up the Gujarat Judiciary Exam 2025.
Age Limit
- General Category Candidates: Maximum 35 years as of the last date of application.
- SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/PwBD Candidates: Maximum 38 years.
- Government Employee Candidates: Eligible for age relaxation up to 40 years.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must hold a Law degree from a recognized university in India.
- Aspirants should possess a Basic Computer Knowledge Certificate.
- Candidates must clear the Gujarati Language Proficiency Test, If they have not studied Gujarati as a subject in SSC/HSC.
Experience
- Candidates must be practicing as an Advocate in Civil or Criminal Courts, or
- Candidates must be employed in the High Court of Gujarat, Subordinate Courts, or Legal Departments.
- Candidates who graduated in law from 2009-2010 onwards must have cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).

- The annual package is approximately ₹9,34,080 to ₹16,38,240, including basic pay, allowances, and other benefits.
