What is CEED?

The goal of the Common Entrance Exam for Design (CEED) is to test a candidate's ability to design, which includes their ability to see, their drawing skills, their logical reasoning, their creativity, their communication skills, and their ability to solve problems. IIT Bombay is in charge of CEED. It is a requirement for getting into Master of Design (MDes) programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur, as well as PhD programmes at several IITs and design schools. Even if you pass CEED, that doesn't mean you'll get into any of these programmes. Admissions offices may give more tests and/or interviews before making the final decision. A CEED score does NOT guarantee admission. Along with the CEED score, colleges will also check eligibility, category certificates, and other documents. The CEED 2023 score is good for one year from the date the results were announced. CEED 2023 Counselling

You can find out when your counselling is on the official CEED 2023 website. Through CEED 2023, there is no general counselling for admission. If they meet the specific eligibility requirements, students will have to apply separately to the institute of their choice from the list of participating institutes. Online tools will be used to do the counselling and seat assignment.

At the time of counselling, each candidate must bring both the original and a copy of all required documents, such as their CEED scorecard, CEED admit card, and certificates.

If a candidate doesn't bring the necessary papers and certificates to counselling, they won't be eligible for admission to colleges that accept CEED. The following will be part of the counselling for CEED 2023:

  • Screening for Aptitude Tests
  • Interview in person

CEED 2023 Cut offs

IIT Bombay will give out the cutoff marks for Part A, which has questions with multiple choice answers. But no cut-off marks will be given for Part B, which is based on how you feel. The CEED exam cut off marks will be different for each category for Part A exam. Candidates whose Part A scores meet the cutoff will be shortlisted, and their Part B answer books will be graded.

Important Changes in CEED over the Years

In 2020, IIT Bombay changed the way the CEED exam was set up. The CEED test has two parts, A and B, which candidates should be aware of. The CEED Part A exam is a screening test, which is important to remember. So, only the students who pass Part A of the exam will be graded on Part B. Also, the CEED merit list is made using only a candidate's score on Part B of the exam.
