A pattern is a modified duplicate of the product that will be produced by the casting process.

A manufacturing method that involves pouring a liquid material into a mould that contains a hollow hole of the desired shape and then allowing it to solidify is called casting or metal casting. The last step is to break or eject the solidified part, also called a casting, from the mould.

Patterns are usually made of wood, wax, or plastic. Mahogany wood is well-known for its soft and light nature. Hence, it is widely used to create patterns in casting

The skeleton pattern is used for the floor and pit welding process. They are commonly used in turbine and water pipe manufacturing.

A gated pattern is simply a pattern composed of many patterns. These are unstructured patterns with attached gates and runners
