Step 1: Read the Instructions Carefully

Step 2: Access the Online Application Link

Applicants must visit the official RRB website and click on the link provided under this CEN to apply. They can select only one RRB and submit only one application for the post.

Step 3: Create an Account or Use Existing Credentials

Candidates will need to create an account to apply. If they already have an account from any 2024 RRB recruitment, they must use the same credentials to apply for CEN 01/2025.

Step 4: Use Active Mobile Number and Email ID

Candidates must have a valid and active mobile number and email ID for receiving OTPs during the account creation process. These details cannot be changed later.

Step 5: Verify Identity Using Aadhaar for Smooth Process

Using Aadhaar for identity verification is highly recommended, as it helps speed up the recruitment process. Those using other photo IDs will face stricter checks at each stage.

Step 6: Fill ‘Create an Account’ Form Carefully

Details like name, date of birth, matriculation details, and contact info must be entered with utmost care. These 12 key details cannot be edited later under any condition.

Step 7: Make Modifications Within the Specified Dates

If needed, candidates can modify other details (except the 12 fixed fields and chosen RRB) by paying ₹250 per change from 14-05-2025 to 23-05-2025. No changes allowed after that.

Step 8: Keep Scanned Photograph and Signature Ready

Applicants must upload a recent passport-size color photo and a scanned signature image as per the given specifications. These will be used for verification at every stage.

RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 Selection Process

The recruitment involves several stages to shortlist eligible candidates for the Assistant Loco Pilot post. Each phase checks different skills like knowledge, reasoning, and practical ability. The RRB ALP Selection Process 2025 includes multiple stages:

Stage 1: CBT 1 (Computer Based Test - 1)

This is the first screening round for all applicants. It consists of objective-type questions from subjects like Maths, General Intelligence, General Science, and Current Affairs. The exam is qualifying in nature and shortlists candidates for CBT 2. The marks from this stage are not counted in the final merit.

Stage 2: CBT 2 (Computer Based Test - 2)

Candidates who clear CBT 1 appear for CBT 2. It has two parts: Part A includes subjects like Mathematics, Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering, and Current Affairs. Part B tests the candidate's trade-specific knowledge and is qualifying in nature.

Stage 3: CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test)

This test is only for those applying for the ALP post (not for Technicians). It checks the candidate’s aptitude for the job role of Loco Pilot. There is no negative marking, and candidates need to score at least 42 marks in each test battery to qualify.

Stage 4: Document Verification & Medical Exam

Candidates who clear all the above stages are called for document verification. After that, a medical fitness test is conducted to ensure candidates are medically fit for duties related to train operations. Final selection depends on document verification and medical standards. 

RRB ALP Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for RRB ALP 2025, candidates must meet the required eligibility conditions set by the Railway Recruitment Board. These include age limit, educational qualifications, and nationality. Fulfilling all criteria is essential to move forward in the recruitment process.

• Matriculation (10th) + ITI certificate in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT
• OR 3-year diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 33 years (as of July 1, 2025)

RRB ALP 2025 Salary

The RRB ALP 2025 salary is based on the 7th Pay Commission and offers a starting basic pay of ₹19,970 under Level 2 of the pay matrix. Along with this, candidates receive various allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and Running Allowance, which significantly boost the monthly salary. On average, the gross monthly salary ranges between ₹26,000 and ₹35,000, while the in-hand salary after deductions comes to around ₹24,000 to ₹34,000.
