நடைமேடையை கடக்க இரயில் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும் நேரம், இரயிலின் நீளம் மற்றும் நடைமேடையின் நீளத்தின் கூட்டுத்தொகை, இரயிலின் வேகத்தால் வகுக்கப்படும்.

தூரம் = வேகம் × நேரம்
