- विकृति: वस्तूच्या मूळ परिमाणाशी परिमाणातील बदलाचे गुणोत्तर विकृति म्हणून ओळखले जाते.
विकृति प्रामुख्याने तीन प्रकारची असते:
- अनुलंब विकृति
- कर्तन विकृति
- आकारमानी विकृति

- लांबी आणि मूळ लांबीच्या बदलाच्या गुणोत्तराला अनुलंब विकृति म्हणतात. ही एक प्रकारची विकृति आहे.
- वस्तूच्या मूळ परिमाणाशी परिमाणाच्या बदलाचे गुणोत्तर विकृति म्हणून ओळखली जाते.
- प्रति युनिट क्षेत्रफळाच्या बलाला दाब म्हणतात.
- वस्तूच्या लांबीमध्ये होणाऱ्या बदलाला अनुलंब विकृती म्हणतात.
