Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Total principal = Rs. 15,500
Total interest = Rs. 5800
Formula used:
SI = PRT / 100
Calculation:
Let the amount invested in scheme A be x
The amount invested in scheme B = 15,500 - x
⇒ [x × 20% × 2] + [(15,500 - x) × 17.5% × 2] = 5800
⇒ [x × 20] + [(15,500 - x) × 17.5] = 580000 / 2
⇒ 2.5x + 15,500 × 17.5 = 290000
⇒ 2.5x = 290000 - 271250
⇒ x = 18750 / 2.5
⇒ x = Rs. 7500
∴ The amount invested in scheme A is Rs. 7500
