Kavyadarsa	The Kavyadarsha by Dandin is the earliest surviving systematic treatment of poetics in Sanskrit. Sri Dandin is a 6th-7th century Indian Sanskrit author of prose romances and expounder on poetics. Although he produced literature on his own, most notably the "Dasakumaracarita", first translated in 1927 as "Hindoo Tales, or The Adventures of the Ten Princes", he is best known for composing the "Kavyadarsa" ('Mirror of Poetry'), the handbook of classical Sanskrit poetics, or "kavya". His writings were all in Sanskrit.
Ashtadhyayi	Ashtadhyayi was written by Indian grammarian Panini during the 5th to 6th century BCE. Ashtadhyayi sets the work standard for the Sanskrit language. It sums up 4,000 sutras that had evolved in the Vedic religion. Panini divided his work into eight chapters, each of which is further divided into quarter chapters. Beyond defining the morphology and syntax of the Sanskrit language, Ashtadhyayi distinguishes between usage in the spoken language and usage that is proper to the language of the sacred texts.
Mahabhasya	Mahabhasya was written by Patanjali. Mahabhasya is a book on Sanskrit grammar. Patanjali was patronised by Pushyamitra Sunga.
Tantraloka	Tantraloka which means “Light on Tantra” was written by Abhinavagupta and presents the teachings of the Kula and Trika systems. Abhinavagupta was a scholar who practised the philosophy of Kashmir Shaivism. He was a philosopher.
