Question
Download Solution PDFIn an inductor, if flux is maintained constant, ______________ EMF will be induced.
Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFConcept:
According to Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction, the EMF induced in an inductor is directly proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linkage. If the magnetic flux through an inductor is constant, then the rate of change of flux is zero, and hence, no EMF will be induced.
Mathematical Expression:
\( e = -\frac{d\phi}{dt} \)
Where \( \phi \) is the magnetic flux. If \( \frac{d\phi}{dt} = 0 \), then \( e = 0 \).
