Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Salary of A is 25% more than B.
Formula used:
Percentage increase = (Increase / Original Value) × 100
Percentage decrease = (Decrease / Original Value) × 100
Calculation:
Let the salary of B be ₹100.
Salary of A = 100 + 25% of 100 = 100 + 25 = ₹125
Difference in salary = 125 - 100 = ₹25
Percentage by which B's salary is less than A's salary = (Difference / A's salary) × 100
= (25 / 125) × 100
= (1/5) × 100
= 20%
∴ The salary of B is 20% less than A.
