Initial radius of the circle = r

New radius of the circle = 8r

Formula Used:

Circumference of a circle = 2πr

Calculation:

Initial circumference = 2πr

New circumference = 2π(8r)

New circumference = 16πr

Increase in circumference = New circumference / Initial circumference

⇒ Increase in circumference = 16πr / 2πr

⇒ Increase in circumference = 8

The circumference increases 8 times from the previous circumference of the circle.
