Concept

Assume both diodes to be ON. If the current in both diodes is positive, then the diodes are in forward biased condition.

In forward-biased conditions, the diode is replaced by its cut in voltage i.e. 0.7 V.

Calculation

qImage67d44aee2143c8946c593c1f

-15 + 0.7 + 0.7 + 5(ID1) = 0

ID1 = 2.72 mA

-15 + 0.7 + 10(I1) + 5(ID1) = 0

I= 0.953 mA

ID2 = ID1 - I1

ID2 = 2.72 - 0.953

ID2 = 1.76 mA

Both the currents have positive values. Hence, our assumption is TRUE.

So, ID1 = 2.72 mA
