1. The Minimum Wages Act: 1948

  • The objective is to ensure that the employee can have basic physical needs, good health, and a level of comfort. To ensure a secure and adequate living wage for all laborers in the interest of the public. To ensure that the employee has enough to provide for his family.

2. The Mines Act1952 was enacted to enforce for measures of safety and welfare of labourers working in coal, metallic, ferrous and oil mines.

3. The Apprentices Act 1961: An Act to provide for the regulation and control of training of apprentices and for matters connected therewith.

4. The Payment of Gratuity Act 1972:  An act that provides a scheme for the payment of gratuity to employees working in railways, ports, factories, oilfields, plantations, mines, shops or other establishments and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. 

5. The Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986The main object of the Child Labour ( Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 is to address the social concern and prohibit the engagement of children who have not completed the 14th year of age in certain employments and to regulate the conditions of work of children has been prohibited in occupations.
