Download Solution PDFGiven:
A watch is sold at a profit of 25%. Had it been sold for Rs. 120 less then, there would have been a loss of 15%.
Calculation:
Let the cost price be 100a
According to the question,
100a × 125% - 120 = 100a × 85%
⇒ 125a - 120 = 85a
⇒ 40a = 120
⇒ a = 3
So, cost price = 100 × 3 = Rs. 300
⇒ Rs. 300
∴ The cost price in rupees is 300.
