Answer (Detailed Solution Below)
Detailed Solution
Download Solution PDFGiven:
Discount = 10%
Sales tax = 18%
Customer’s C.P = Rs. 47790
Concept used:
S.P = M.P × (100 – D%)/100
Where,
S.P → Selling price
M.P → Marked price
D% → Discount%
Calculations:
Let the original M.P be 100x
S.P after discount of 10% = 100x × 90/100 = 90x
S.P after sales tax = 90x + 18% of 90x
⇒ 90x + 16.2x
⇒ 106.2x
According to the question
⇒ 106.2x = 47,790
⇒ x = 450
The marked price = 100x = 450 × 100 = Rs. 45,000
The marked price of the watch is Rs. 45000.Last updated on Jun 26, 2025
