A massive fire broke out on a ship in Indonesia. As soon as the incident occurred, there was a commotion on the ship and many people jumped into the sea to save themselves. The mishap happened on a ship named KM Barcelona VA near Talis Island near North Sulawesi.
According to media reports, more than 280 people were on board at the time of the incident. The incident triggered panic among the passengers. Children were also present on the ship, and some people were seen jumping into the water to escape the fire.
Relief and rescue operations were underway at the time of filing this report. The cause of the fire is not yet clear.
In another incident, Delta Flight DL446, flying from Los Angeles to Atlanta, was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday after a possible fire was detected in its left engine. Pilots began receiving indications of an engine problem as the Boeing 767-400 aircraft took off from Los Angeles International Airport.
According to Delta, the crew quickly responded, declared an emergency and asked for permission to turn the plane back to the airport. Air traffic control immediately provided a route and alerted emergency services on the ground.
