Viral Video: A recent video showing a teacher sleeping on a chair in the classroom of a government school in Meerut has been circulating on the internet. In the 22-second short clip, a female assistant teacher, reportedly from Junior High School Krishnapuri, is spotted sleeping in what appears to be a classroom on an ongoing school day. The video was allegedly filmed by a student.
The clip has drawn massive criticism from social media users and locals after being uploaded online. According to India Today reports, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Asha Chaudhary said that an investigation has been initiated in the matter. Meanwhile, she has also assured appropriate action after a thorough probe. The video has been watched by thousands of users as of now.

A similar case occurred in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur last year, where a teacher was booked for sleeping in class at Nandagram Primary School. In the video, he was spotted lying on the floor with his clothes off and using a student’s bag as a pillow. After the video went viral, the authorities initiated action against him. According to the accused teacher, he felt unwell that day, which caused him to miss the class. However, Block Education Officer (BEO) Atul Chaudhary said that there have been previous complaints against him in the past for neglecting his duties and mistreating students.
