Which Are Those 3 Jobs That Won’t Be Impacted

Bill Gates believes that AI is a major breakthrough with the potential to tackle difficult challenges and revolutionize fields such as healthcare and education. Despite all this, the tech tycoon believes that AI won’t be able to replace three professionals- Coders, Biologists, and Energy experts due to the nuances and creativity required in these fields. He was speaking to India Express Adda on if humans should be worried about AI taking over in the near future.

Elaborating the three ‘sustainable jobs,’ he said that coders will still have an important role to play. Gates explained that AI will assist biologists rather than replace them, helping with tasks like disease diagnosis and DNA analysis. However, since AI lacks creativity, it cannot take over biologists’ role in making scientific discoveries. He also stated that AI cannot replace energy experts because their work is highly complex and cannot be fully automated.

Coders

Coders are also known as programmers or developers. They are professionals who write, test, and maintain code to create software, websites, applications, and other digital solutions. For this they use programming languages like Python, Java, C++, and JavaScript to develop and optimize technology-based systems. Elaborating the role of coders, Bill Gates said that coders will still have an important role to play.

Humans will be needed for debugging, refining and advancing AI. To study coding, one has to obtain a computer science degree. Carnegie Mellon University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University are the best institutions in America for this course.

Biologists

These are scientists who study living organisms- their structure, function, growth, evolution, and interactions with the environment. For biologists– instead of replacing them, AI will be used for disease diagnosis, DNA analysis, however since AI would lack creativity, it cannot replace biologists in making scientific discoveries. Biologists include experts working in the field of genetics, ecology, microbiology and marine biology- who contribute to medicine advancements and research.

If someone wants to study to become a biologist in America, he can take admission in Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of California San Francisco.

Energy Experts

Energy experts are those who specialize in the production, distribution, and efficient use of energy. Addressing this career, Gates said that AI won’t be able to replace energy experts as their field of work is too complex to be made completely automated.

In US, Courses related to the energy sector can be studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Maryland College Park, University of California Berkeley.
