Watch Video: Nicholas Pooran’s Powerhitting Injures A Fan In The Stands

During IPL 2025 Nicholas Pooran presents a new version of himself as he competes on the West Indies batting squad. Gujarat Titans played Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday (April 12) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium for the 26th match of the tournament. During this game the powerful blows of Pooran’s bat traveled over the stands to reach seven sixes even after he smashed them from the boundary. Among the seven sixes hit by Pooran one resulted in severe injuries to a spectator.

The force of the ball hit the spectator enough to require hospitalization for his injury. Doctors examined him then gave care and he received eight medical stitches on his head.

Albeit seriously injured the cricket enthusiast showed no signs of losing his enthusiasm for the match. He resumed watching the match at the stadium following his medical care.

Pooran propelled Lucknow to victory.

Lucknow teams triumphed with a six-wicket victory through Nicholas Pooran’s outstanding bat work during the game. The Gujarat Titans variant opened their batting innings following an opposing team choice to bat first and reached 180 runs within their 20-over period but lost six wickets along the way. Lucknow Super Giants achieved the target easily as they stopped 4 wickets and finished with 184 runs in 19.3 overs.

Pooran advanced up to the number three batting position while facing 34 balls in his run during the chase. His outstanding batting performance included 61 runs from 34 balls with a remarkable 179.41 strike rate that came through a four and seven powerful sixes. Other than Aiden Markram who batted first in the innings he managed to score 58 runs in 31 balls.
