India is dominating England in England and in both its senior as well as youth categories. The senior men’s team is currently playing the second Test match at Edgbaston, Birmingham, while the Under-19 team has already claimed the 5-match ODI series by 3-1. Vaibhav Suryanashi, who is the star performer for India in the ODI series, has made a stunning record of slamming the fastest ODI youth century. He scored 143 runs off just 78 balls, where his ton came in just 52 balls. While talking to the BCCI, Suryavanshi revealed that he is really inspired by Shubman Gill, the Indian Test captain, who is scoring consecutive centuries in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Fastest ODI Youth Century
Vaibhav Suryavanshi set a new example at the age of just 14. He scored a century in just 52 balls and set the record for the fastest century in youth ODI cricket. In his explosive innings of 78 balls, he scored 143 runs, which reflected his confidence and aggression. He hit brilliant shots in all four directions and put the England bowlers completely on the back foot. His 219-run partnership with Vihaan Malhotra was made in just 24 overs, which took India to a huge score of 363 runs. Suryavanshi’s innings was not only fast, but it was also important in turning the match in India’s favor from the very beginning.
Gill’s Averaged Spiked After Consecutive Centuries
On the other hand, Indian captain Shubman Gill is in the best phase of his career these days. He has scored a total of 585 runs so far, scoring two centuries and a double century. His lowest score so far has been 8 runs, which he made in the second innings of the Leeds Test. In the second Test at Edgbaston, he scored 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second. These impressive performances have taken his Test average from 35 to 42.72, as reported by Cricbuzz.
Can India Claim The 2nd Test?
While the Under-19 team has already claimed the 5-match ODI series against England Under-19, the senior team is engaged in the second Test match after losing the first Test match in Leeds. India is currently in a dominating position in Edgbaston by claiming 3 wickets already and 1 day left. Apart from Gill, Indian speedsters, Mohmmad Siraj and Akash Deep have performed exceptionally by claiming 6 and 4 wickets respectively in the first innings. Both Indian speed guns played a crucial role in the 2nd innings as well. England now needs 536 more runs and is left with 7 wickets in hand.
