Tim Southee Receives Guard Of Honour From England Players As Ace Kiwi Pacer Represents New Zealand For Final Time In Test Cricket | Watch

New Zealand pacer Tim Southee received guard of honour from the England players on Day 1 of NZ vs ENG 3rd Test as he was playing his farewell Test match.

New Zealand and England are playing against each other in the third and final Test of the three-match series at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. Ben Stokes and Co have an unassailable lead of 2-0 and will look forward to white-wash the Kiwis. New Zealand finished the Day 1 of NZ vs ENG 3rd Test at 315/9 wherein Tom Latham top scored with an innings of 63 runs from 135 balls. The NZ vs ENG 3rd Test is also very special for Kiwi pacer Tim Southee as he is playing his farewell Test match of his international career. Southee was given a guard of honour by Ben Stokes led England team as he came out to bat and scored 23 runs from just 10 balls.

Getting back to the match, New Zealand openers Tom Latham and Will Young started off the day well as the duo added 105 runs for the first wicket. Young played an innings of 42 runs from 92 balls which included a total of ten fours. Following Young’s dismissal Latham smashed a welcome half century but got dismissed after scoring 63 runs. Williamson followed the Kiwi captain and was dismissed by Matthew Potts. The Kiwi middle order wasn’t able to do much as Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Blundell and Glenn Phillips departed cheaply. Mitchell Santner showcased some grace and was unbeaten on 50 runs from 54 balls towards end of the day. On the other hand, Tim Southee smashed one four and three sixesd during his stay at the crease

Towards the end of the day, Matthew Potts and Gus Atkinson picked up three wickets for the visitors followed by two-wicket haul from Brydon Carse and one wicket from Ben Stokes. England have been on top of their batting in the series as of now and will look to bowl out New Zealand as soon as possible and take a lead in the match.
