SRH’s coach Daniel Vettori emphasised how Mumbai Indians fielders produced significant difficulty for Hyderabad batter performance through the vital middle moments of play. During his commentary Vettori praised the exceptional fielding performance of MI while stating that their tactics combined with precision execution proved successful despite unfavourable court conditions. The IPL coach pointed out that Jasprit Bumrah along with Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya managed their deliveries perfectly to minimise run-scoring chances. The SRH batting displayed minimal offence when they scored 66 runs with three wickets lost in their 10-over middle segment which Vettori noted as a crucial problem in their defeat.
Vettori On MI’s Performance
“It was just incredibly tough through those middle stages,” he said.
“It was a difficult surface. Mumbai read the conditions exceptionally well…they really relied on that slow ball, but it was mainly effective because of their execution and there’s some supreme exponents of it in (Jasprit) Bumrah and Trent Boult and even Hardik Pandya.”
Vettori Talks About SRH’s Defeat
“The way they bowled, particularly through those middle stages, really stifled us. We were 66 for three through those 10 overs, and in these sort of conditions you probably need more than that,” he added.
“I feel like no one really has control over their surface, so there’s a little bit of luck involved in terms of coming up against wickets that don’t suit us,” Vettori addressed the media following SRH’s defeat in yet another away game in this IPL.
