Pakistan Cricket Board To Suffer Huge Loss Of INR 52 Crore If They Boycott ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Report

The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to suffer a huge loss if they plan to boycott the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after BCCI's refusal to travel to the neighbouring country.

Ever since India has refused to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 it has added more fire to the suggestion of playing the tournament under the hybrid model. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board is adamant about hosting the competition in Pakistan and may boycott it is moved outside the country. However, at any point, if the Champions Trophy 2025 is played under the hybrid model it will be PCB who will be at a loss. India and Pakistan are among the most heated cricketing rivals and the fans wait to see the clash of both the teams. However, since these teams don’t play any bilateral series and clash only in ACC and ICC events, India’s refusal to play the tournament will result in a huge loss in revenue for both the ICC and PCB.

As per a report by News 18, if the Pakistan Cricket Board plans to boycott the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, it will result in a loss of INR 54 crores. The reason behind the same will be if the host nation boycotts a tournament it shall lose out on acquiring the entirety of the hosting fees. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi in his recent statement has made Pakistan’s stance clear and added that if the BCCI has any issues in travelling to the neighbouring country it must give a written letter. He said, “We have a clear stance that they must give it to us in writing if they [the Indian cricket board] have any issues. Till today, we have not spoken about any hybrid model, but we’re ready to speak on this.”

South Africa has been reported as the country to which the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 can be moved if it is played under the hybrid model. After India’s refusal to play the tournament in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board has written a letter to ICC and want a clarification in their stance regarding the tournament. However, at any point, if both teams refuse to play the tournament, it will be a loss of the fans.
