Ivory Coast Blown Away For Seven Runs Against Nigeria In T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers, Register Lowest Team Total In T20Is

Ivory Coast was wrapped up for a score of mere seven runs while chasing down 272 runs against Nigeria in the T20 World Cup Africa qualifier.

Such an history was created during the T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier Group C match between Nigeria and Ivory Coast. Nigeria blew away the Ivory Coast for a mere score of just seven runs which also recorded as the lowest-ever total in any T20I match. The disappointing record of previously jointly held by Mongolia and Isle of Man, who were wrapped up for 10 runs.

Ivory Coast Reach New Low In International Cricket

Batting in the T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier Group C match, Nigeria put up a massive total of 271/4. Batter Selim Salau played an innings of 121 runs from 53 and smashed the opposition bowlers to all the parts of the ground. The latter smashed 13 fours and two sixes during his stay at the crease. Apart from Salau, Isaac Okpe played an innings of 65 runs from 23 balls, which helped the Nigerian team put up a big first innings.

Chasing down the target, Ivory Coast team never looked in the game from the start of the match. None of the batters were able to reach double digits and six out of 11 players were dismissed without troubling the scorers. In the end, Ivory Coast got wrapped up for a score of just seven runs in 7.3 overs and Nigeria won the match by a margin of 264 runs.
