Injured during the match against Delhi
Sanju Samson sustained his injury during his batting performance versus Delhi in the governing encounter. During the match versus Delhi Sanju Samson experienced a muscle strain which made him end his performance and return to the pavilion on foot. Rajasthan Royals lost the match to Delhi after Sanju Samson did not participate in the Super Over batting. Sanju Samson remained off the playing roster when Rajasthan played against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their subsequent match. The RCB match on April 24 has forced him to be absent from the playing field.
Rajasthan team suffered from an important loss because of this incident. Sanju played as an Impact Player not more than once throughout the starting phase of the tournament resulting from his injury. Sanju performed neither as wicketkeeper nor as team leader during the preceding matches. The team has suffered diminished results due to Sanju Samson’s absence as captain in IPL 2025. Riyan Parag leads the team as the captain instead of Sanju. The Rajasthan squad experienced defeat in their last home contest versus LSG with Sanju Samson serving as captain.
