Strategy Behind The Decision

Devine clarified that she wants to set a strong target and push the West Indies’ side onto their nerves. New Zealand decided to play the same side that won the match against Pakistan in the last match, using the same team as they have not been making too many changes in the team.

Historical Context

Before that match, New Zealand and West Indies had faced each other four times in the history of the T20 World Cup, of whom New Zealand won two encounters.

Playing XI

West Indies: Hayley Matthews (C), Qiana Joseph, Shemaine Campbelle (wk), Deandra Dottin, Stafanie Taylor, Chinelle Henry, Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, Aaliyah Alleyne, Afy Fletcher, Karishma Ramharack
